A visit from the grandparents

Here in Korea we have just celebrated the Chu-Suk, which is the equivalent of the Thanksgiving. For the Koreans this celebration involves visiting their families and showing the gratitude towards the older generations.

Although unintentionally, it was therefor very well timed that Kents parent visited us for this week. Rikke picked them up in the airport Friday afternoon, and we spent the first weekend relaxing, recovering and enjoying the scenery around Haeundae, including a walk around Dongbak Island.

For the week, we mainly stayed in the Haeundae area and enhoyed eachothers company. However we did go for a couple of day-trips outside of Busan. One day we drove around Geoje Island. It was nice to be able to show the shipyard and the scenic area south-west of Busan. Another day we explored the area of Gyeongju, an ancient royal city north of Busan. It was a great experience for us all.

Both Sundays we went to AIM, the international church we attend. We were greatful that we could share this experience.

All week, we had excellent weather with sunshine during the days and slightly cool nights. It has actually surprised us alot to experience how pleasant the weather is in this area.

Last Tuesday Rikke followed Kents parents back to the airport, and we are now back in the everyday routine after the holidays. Although we have said goodbye, we now have all the memories in common.

We have posted a photo album from the visit.
