Spring is arriving

It feels like only a short time ago we started work and school again after the long break at Christmas and New Year. The winter here in Busan has been cold and dry with day temperatures averaging around 5 degrees, but with frost most nights. Despite the low temperatures, the feel of winter is much different from Denmark though as most days have offered sunshine from a blue sky and the darkness is not as looming.

For some reason the last weeks have felt very busy, although we had a couple of nice long weekends. First for the Chinese (Lunar) New Year and lastly last weekend where the Koreans celebrated independence from Japan.
On the Saturday of the Chinese New Year we went on a hike up Jangsan Mountain with another family from Church. The round-trip was about 10 km and gave us the feeling of being far away from the city. Although we feel like we are living in the center of Busan, the Jangsan Mountain is only 10 minutes drive from our home.

We can now really feel the spring is coming. During the day the sun is increasingly gaining strength and the hours where outdoors activity is pleasant has extended likewise. In addition the weather forecast shows temperatures this week crawling up in the vicinity of 20 degrees so before long, the winter wardrobe will have been replaced by shorts and t-shirts.

Last Thursday night we went for dinner with Kents collegues and their families. It was a good experience, not least because one of Williams best friends and one of Emils best friends were among the guests. In addition the view over Gwangan Bridge from 30th floor of the new Hyatt Hotel was spectacular.
Friday Simon had his 17th Birthday. It was a nice and relaxing day where we enjoyed time together as a family, and also had a visit from Simon’s girlfriend.

We have shared a photo album from the winter season here, mainly from the walk on Jangsan Mountain. The photos from last Thursdays dinner and Simon’s Birthday will follow soon.
